From last 18 years Dr. Vilas Pawar has been working in the field of journalism. His many daily & weekly editorials, report & columns on social and political subjects & also other various subjects reports have been published. Dr. Vilas Pawar is involved with many social welfare societies and is working as a Chairman of "Suraksha Abhiyan Trust" which looks after the safety of humans on roads and in industries.
He has featured in nearly 300 live telecast Talk shows on "Doordarshan" Sahyadri channel. These talk shows were based on subjects like Social Welfare & Awareness, on political fronts, literature, science & technology, environment etc. He has also directed, produced & written scripts for short films & telefilms in which many films are telecast on Doordarshan & its CD's are available in the market.
